Pet licensing: Before you take Rover on the road, be sure he has a license. In the City of Mill Creek, it’s the law, and there are also advantages. When a lost dog can be identified by a license, officers in the field will return the dog directly to the owner instead of transporting it to the shelter. Owners of pets wearing a license are notified when their pet is taken to the shelter. Licensed animals with current information on file are held a minimum of five days at the shelter whereas an unlicensed pet, or one with outdated owner information, is legally held for just 72 hours. A lifetime license is $5 and can be purchased at Mill Creek City Hall. More information and an application form are available here.
