DeVine Wines is a wine enthusiast dream. Walking in to the store with walls of wines is a magical experience, as hope for a relaxing future is made possible by featuring many wines from Washington State and Napa.

But DeVine Wines is more than just a place to buy bottles of wine. The store offers a happy hour, wines by the glass, food options and a selection of local brews. It is a great spot for gathering after work, finding special gifts or looking for the perfect red to snuggle up with on a rainy night.

Candis and Tom Parker are the owners of DeVine Wines, located in the Mill Creek Town Center, but Candis is the mastermind behind the extensive selection of vino offered. DeVine Wines originally opened its doors in 2004; Candis bought and reopened DeVine Wines in June 2011 and now offers a selection of over 500 different labels of wine.

Wine seekers can find international and domestic wines, sparkling wine, champagne, port, sake and dessert wines in one convenient place. Wines vary anywhere from $9.99 to $295 so there is something offered for everyone no matter the budget. Special order requests are accepted.

“We try hard to be approachable to wine drinkers of all levels. Regardless of your experience – if you are learning to enjoy wine or if you have a sophisticated palate – we are happy to help guide the way,” said Candis. “We thoroughly enjoy novice wine buyers that are looking to try something different. This allows us to really walk through characteristics relating to their palate while also educating them about wine at the same time.”

Candis has a love of chardonnay and has an impressive selection for her guests any time of year, as well as making sure the inventory accommodates all the seasonal changes that influence a wine experience.

“Reds are extremely popular on chilly nights, as well as being delicious in pairing beautifully with food,” says Candis. “Chardonnay on the other hand is just a fun wine to experiment with. You can find it in oak, in stainless, with buttery notes or with a clean finish. The winemakers can really get creative with chardonnay and that is why it has become my favorite.”

The fun doesn’t stop there, DeVine Wines offers a wine club that guarantees at least one bottle of wine each month.

“One of my favorite offerings is our Wine Club,” said Candis. “It helps people try new things and sometimes makes them go outside of their comfort zone with wines they have never tried or heard of.”

The wine club starts at just $30 for one bottle per month. There are also three other clubs that start at $50 per month providing up to four bottles of wine each month.

When the tap runs dry, stop in and try a variety of spectacular wines from all around the world at DeVine Wines. The store is open Tuesday and Wednesday 12-7 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 12-9 p.m. More information can be found at www.de-vinewines.com or by emailing info@de-vinewines.com.
